Can my child use mobile wallet?

Yes. If your child is 13+, they can add their own card to their mobile wallet to use Apple Pay and Google Pay. If your child is under 13, you’ll have to add their card to a shared family mobile wallet for them to be able to access it.

What kinds of alerts/limits can I set on my child’s account?

You can set up alerts by transaction type and set limits to prevent or alert you about transactions beyond a certain dollar amount. To see a full list of controls and alerts available through UBTgo, click here.

Can I monitor their account in UBTgo?

Yes — if you and your child both have UBTgo, you can view relevant information on their account by adding it to your UBTgo homepage, where you’ll see it next to your account(s).

What will my child receive with this account?

With a Simply Free Student account, your child will have a safe place where they can put paychecks, allowances, or spending cash. They'll also receive a debit card so they can spend anywhere, and they can view their funds in UBTgo.

Should I open online or in-branch?

Opening online can be quicker and saves a trip to the bank, but if you have any questions or need assistance, stop by your local branch and our friendly bankers will be happy to help out.
